How much does a walk-through metal detector cost?
Garrett walk-through units run between $6,000 and $15,000 depending on the model and configuration. Delivery, installation, and on-site training for the first unit starts at $1,600, adjusted for distance and scope. Volume pricing applies at four or more units.Can I rent a metal detector instead of buying?
Yes. We rent both walk-through and handheld units for events, temporary checkpoints, and trial periods across Arizona and the Southwest. Every rental includes delivery, setup, tuning, and a walkthrough with your staff, so the checkpoint works from the first guest. Call for rental rates.How many people per minute can the Paragon screen?
There's no single number, because it depends on the security program you run. At event settings with Garrett's Quick-Q technology, guests walk through in a continuous line without stopping or emptying their pockets, so a lane moves about as fast as people can walk through it. Higher-security programs screen more tightly and divert more people to secondary checks. We'll help you pick the right program and tell you honestly how many lanes your entry needs.Do I need an electrician or special power?
No. Units run on standard wall power, and hot-swappable battery options let you run a checkpoint outdoors or anywhere without a nearby outlet. The Paragon also has a built-in backup battery, so an unplugged cord or a power outage doesn't take your checkpoint down.Will it alarm on belt buckles, phones, and jewelry?
Only if it's tuned wrong. Every unit ships at factory defaults, and that's the number one reason detectors get turned off within a month. We set sensitivity and zone programming to your actual traffic, then adjust after the first week of live use. Phones, keys, and normal jewelry pass through a properly tuned unit.Can the Paragon be moved between buildings or events?
Yes. Garrett walk-through units break down and set up in minutes without tools. For sites that rotate screening between locations, we also build rolling checkpoint tables so the detector, handheld scanners, and bin station move as one piece.Is a metal detector enough on its own?
It's one layer. A detector finds weapons at the door, but it doesn't stop someone who bypasses the line or forces entry through glass. Many of our clients pair screening with security window film or Riot Glass on the entry so the checkpoint can't be skipped. We design both together.Who trains our staff?
We do, on site, on your equipment. Amarok's founders each have about 20 years in law enforcement and have run real screening points. Training covers unit operation, secondary screening with a handheld, what to do on an alarm, and how to keep a line moving without cutting corners.What areas do you serve?

Often, yes. Screening equipment is an allowable expense under many school safety grant programs. Check with your grant administrator, and if you're not sure where your funding stands, we're happy to talk through what districts in your position have done.How fast can you deliver and install?
For stocked models, plan on 10 to 14 days from order to a fully installed, tuned, and trained checkpoint. Rush setups for events and urgent situations are available. Call and we'll give you a real date, not a range.
