How can Schools Apply for State-level Safety Hardening Funds?

by | Jun 24, 2026

Schools can apply for state-level safety hardening funds through specific state departments or safety centers, depending on their location. Based on the provided content, the application channels for state-level programs include:

  • Arizona State Safety Hardening Funds: Schools in Arizona can apply through the Arizona Department of Education. These grants typically require a comprehensive security assessment and proper justification for the funding.
  • Texas School Safety Mandate Funding: Schools in Texas apply through the Texas School Safety Center. These funds are designed to cover entry-resistant film and other campus hardening requirements.

To increase the chances of a successful application, schools should follow these steps:

  1. Conduct a Security Assessment: Most state programs require a detailed evaluation to identify vulnerabilities and determine the scope of glass hardening needed.
  2. Develop a Proposal: Create an evidence-based proposal that demonstrates an urgent need and aligns with the specific program’s goals.
  3. Engage Professional Installers: Utilizing professional services, such as Amarok Defense, ensures that the implementation plan meets reporting requirements and safety standards, which can help prevent funding clawbacks.
  4. Verify Compliance: Ensure the project meets required safety standards, such as ASTM testing, and includes documentation for grant audits.
